Description

This Arabic course aims to encourage students to imagine and explore what Palestine would look like in a post-colonial context. Through discussions and assignments, students will delve into various aspects of Palestinian life, such as art, culture, and daily routines, in order to gain a deeper understanding of how decolonization could impact these areas. By envisioning a future where Palestine is free from colonial oppression, students will be challenged to think critically and creatively about what steps can be taken to make this vision a reality. Ultimately, this course is designed to foster empathy, critical thinking, and a commitment to social justice among its participants. This course is for learners who are beyond the basic conversational level and can communicate in Arabic in the present, past and future tense and form their own sentences. You will get more creative and confident with the language and be able to communicate with more complexity. The heart of this course is speaking, but there will also be reading, writing and listening work.
