Cultural Genocide in Palestine: Gaza and Beyond

Zochrot and TINAU will be in discussion with Munir Nuseibah to examine the Israeli attempts to conduct a cultural genocide in Palestine, focusing on the wide destruction of the Gaza Strip, but also showing other examples of cultural genocide elsewhere in Palestine.  Munir Nuseibah is a professor of international law and the director of the human rights clinic at Al-Quds University. He is also a member of the board of Zochrot, as well as a number of other civil society organizations based in Palestine and abroad focusing his career and contributions on human rights. Zochrot is an NGO that has been working since 2002 for exposing and disseminating historical information about the Palestinian Nakba in Hebrew, with a view to promote accountability for the Nakba among the Jewish public of Israel and the implementation of the Right of Return of Palestinian refugees.

This is Not an Ulpan is an alternative language school led by Palestinian and Jewish educators that teach Hebrew and Arabic in Israel-Palestine and online. TINAU teaches through critical pedagogy to encourage students to engage critically with their own identities and the complexities of Israel-Palestine with a focus on social justice.
