Poetry Reading Night x Write-Haus

Event Theme: Tongues

This evening centers on poems that engage with language itself—how we speak, hold back, translate, or lose words. We’re looking for poems written in first languages, second languages, or borrowed ones; poems about accents, miscommunication, silence, restraint, and unfiltered speech.

Tongues welcomes work that explores language as power and risk: speech as prayer or confession. Poems may sit in the pause before speaking, or in the moment when too much is said. We also welcome pieces that resist polish—bold, honest, playful, or precise—and that reflect on what it means to speak, and be heard.
