- ONLINE INT. INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED ARABIC
How do you talk about what’s happening around you in Arabic? In this course, current events become our classroom material. Every day, we’ll work with news from Palestine, Israel, and across the Arab world, selected and rewritten by our teachers into natural Palestinian Arabic, making real and relevant content accessible while keeping the language rich and challenging. We’ll build the vocabulary needed to understand and discuss current events, while practicing how to summarize stories, explain developments, express opinions, compare perspectives, and take part in more complex conversations in Arabic. The news will also give us reason to revisit grammar and push our language further. Through each story, we’ll work with more complex sentence structures, connectors, and ways of organizing and expressing ideas clearly through material that is current, relevant, and worth talking about. *** We have made a change in our pricing structure and are offering a sliding scale in order to give you the opportunity to donate 100 or 200 shekels to our scholarship & emergency fund.
- ONLINE PRE-INTER. ARABIC | FALL 26
This course bridges the gap between structured Beginner Arabic and the more open, less-filtered world of Intermediate learning. It helps students move beyond fixed patterns, gain confidence and fluency in conversation, and discuss a wider range of topics while continuing to deepen key grammatical structures. Through adapted news stories, testimonies, short texts, videos, social media content, maps, statistics, discussions, and debates, we’ll explore Palestinian communities in the West Bank, Gaza, Jerusalem, inside Israel, and across the diaspora. Topics include the Nakba and displacement, cities, villages and refugee camps, cultural and legal identity, food, art, freedom of movement, politics, public discourse, and current realities. Interactive online activities and small-group work give students plenty of opportunities to speak, exchange ideas, and use Palestinian Arabic independently thus, making real and relevant content accessible while keeping the language rich and challenging.

“Without a sense of identity, there can be no real struggle” - Paulo Freire What is Mizrahi identity? Not only oppression, discrimination and immigration - but 2000 years of literature, culture, community and history - so come and get to know more of it, in Hebrew! In this course we will learn about the lives of Jews in “Eastern” regions (the Arab world, the Islamic world, Asia, and Africa); study important historical figures; experience ancient and relevant culture, arts and thought. We will speak about imperialism and orientalism, tradition and modernity, identity and community, gender and religious feminism, nationalism and Zionism, immigrant communities, religious and ethnic minorities, and more. Throughout this course we will learn in a critical way: we will examine and ask questions, and together work to understand how this is relevant to today, to our lives, and to our own complex identities. In each lesson we will learn about a significant Mizrahi historical figure, and through them we will learn about their community, their struggles, and their cultural and political implications. We will learn together from original texts, liturgical and secular poetry. We will have deep and personal discussions, and we will present our own ideas and stories, and how they may relate to the topics of the course. We will gain tools to decipher complex and challenging Hebrew texts, learn Jewish cultural terminology, and share experiences and opinions in Hebrew. *** Early Bird Price Start at - 1400 NIS - Until 06/09 Reduced Price Start at - 1550 NIS - Until 04/10 Full Price Start at - 1700 NIS - Until first lesson of the course We have made a small change in our pricing structure and are now offering a sliding scale in order to give you the opportunity to donate 100 or 200 shekels when you buy a course.
