"Every land is a holy land” - 47Soul For this course, nature is our classroom. Each class will take place in a different urban nature spot in and around Jerusalem* where the landscape and its (human and non-human) inhabitants will be our teachers and storytellers. We will explore topics such as climate justice, sustainable urban development, ecology, and Israeli and Palestinian relationships to nature. We will learn about the impact of the occupation and Nakba on the land and about local campaigns to protect Jerusalem’s nature and people. We will ask big questions: How can we deepen our reciprocal relationship with nature, even while living in a city? How can nature’s ability to heal itself teach us how to heal? Through connecting to nature, can we see a way out of our reality of capitalism and conflict? Alongside our intellectual explorations, we will learn experientially through nature connection exercises and games. At each location we will forage for edible and medicinal plants, learning the principles of sustainable foraging and the cultural and historical stories that these plants have to tell. Of course all this will be in Hebrew, and we will be reading articles and watching documentary video clips related to the topics and locations of the course. Join us for a deep dive into the world around us and our relationship to it! *All locations will be accessible by public transport *** Early Bird Price Start at - 1300 NIS - Until 23/03 Reduced Price Start at - 1400 NIS - Until 13/04 Full Price Start at - 1500 NIS - Until first lesson of the course We have made a small change in our pricing structure and are now offering a sliding scale in order to give you the opportunity to donate 100 or 200 shekels when you buy a course.
